Today my family went in search for the perfect Christmas tree that we will decorate with lights and ornaments, but more then that with love and memories. I know that some may not do tree's for Christmas and still others may not celebrate Christmas but to my family it is a time to celebrate the birth of Jesus, though I do not believe He was born in Dec. It is also a time to do fun activities and come together as family and friends. What child doesn't love
Christmas? Any how for the last few years our oldest son D.J has stood in line the day after Thanksgiving to get a tree tag from the forest service, well this year he got there a bit late and was unable to get a tag. We
normally cut our tree down from our beautiful mountains. Well that wasn't going to stop us from having as much fun. So we went to one of our local
gentlemen that has been
cutting trees for 30 years, he had around 15. We adored each and every one and this kind
gentleman was able to tell us about each tree, where he cut it, how far he had to hike for it. It
really was a neat time. The children picked the one they knew would be just perfect and we headed home. I decided that we should roast marshmallows and make
smores. We have a wonderful
fire pit in our garden area. So that is just what we did. We sat around a beautiful
fire out in the crisp cold air, drank hot coco and ate rich, gooey,
messy smores. We sang Christmas songs to end the time. Hum, maybe we started a new family tradition!
